I’M CAMPING!

15 Things to Remind Me – I'm Camping!

My CCC campsite, just outside Theodore Roosevelt National Park – North Unit entrance. Note the transister radio.
  1. It’s the middle of the night, and I can’t find the zipper to get out of the tent – just when I need it most (if you get my drift)
  2. I go to bed at 730 pm, then wake up around midnight – in excruciating pain
  3. Those are not dogs howling
  4. I can see stars
  5. I routinely carry toilet paper in my pocket
  6. Showering or generally any form of personal hygiene – all optional
  7. Everything tastes good
  8. I acknowledge and am (more than usual) polite to my neighbors
  9. My car is a complete mess – I brought everything but can not find anything
  10. I constantly hear strange noises at night, and go to sleep full of terror
  11. My laptop (if I am stupid enough to bring it) screen is literally covered with every flying insect imaginable
  12. Those really are crickets chirping (and not someone’s phone ringing)
  13. No matter how hard I try to keep them out, there is always one bug in my tent
  14. The toilet seat is always down
  15. It’s the middle of the night, and I STILL can’t find the zipper to get out of the tent. Sigh.
